Create Your Own Storybook

Steps

Plan Your Story

Pick a main character like an animal or a brave kid.

Keep the plot short and simple for young minds.

Aim for 8 to 10 pages total so it is easy to finish.

Write and Illustrate

Write one or two short sentences per page.

Leave space for pictures above or next to the words.

Draw pictures with crayons, markers, or paint.

Put the Book Together

Fold blank paper in half to make your pages.

Use a piece of thicker paper or cardstock for the cover.

Staple or sew the middle fold with yarn to hold the pages

Make a Bookmark

You'll need
• Toilet roll tube
• Paint
• Glue
• Googly eyes

Steps

Cut your paper into strips the size of your book

Decorate the paper with your designs

Make a hole in the top and thread some yarn through it

Add some beads to the bottom of the yarn to complete your bookmark

Paint Story Stones

You'll need
• Pebbles / smooth stones
• Acrylic paint & pens
• Modge podge glue
• Decorations

Steps

Go on a nature walk to find smooth stones, then wash and dry them completely.

Paint pictures directly onto the rocks or glue cut-out images onto them.

Include a mix of characters, everyday objects, settings, and animals (like a cat, a house, a star, or a tree).

Paint a layer of Mod Podge over the top of the pictures or painted designs to protect them from peeling during play. Let them dry completely

Put your stones in different combinations and create a new story every time!
