Decorate Cupcakes

🟢 Easy

🔵 20 mins 👨‍👩‍👧 Parent help

You'll need

• Plain cupcakes • Buttercream

• Sprinkles • Fruit

Steps

Cool baked cupcakes completely on a wire rack so the frosting does not melt.

Make or buy a stable frosting like American buttercream.

Fit a piping bag with a large star tip (like a Wilton 1M) and fill it halfway with frosting.

Twist the top of the bag to push the air out and secure the icing.

Add your toppings to your cupcake in any design you like

Fruit Scewers

🟢 Easy

🔵 15 mins 👨‍👩‍👧 Parent help

You'll need

• A selection of different fruit

• Wooden skewers

Preparing the Fruit and Tools

  • Choose safe sticks: Use dull bamboo sticks, plastic skewers, or blunt lollipop sticks, and snip off sharp points if needed.
  • Pick bright colours: Select a rainbow mix like strawberries (red), oranges (orange), pineapple (yellow), kiwi (green), and blueberries (blue).
  • Cut evenly: Slice firm fruits into bite-sized chunks or use small cookie cutters on melon slices for fun shapes. Leave small berries or seedless grapes whole.

Assembling the Kebabs

  • Thread the pieces: Push the fruit gently onto the sticks. Let kids make patterns, count the pieces, or arrange them like a rainbow.
  • Add a fun dip: Mix plain Greek yogurt with a little honey or vanilla in a small bowl for dipping.
  • Serve fresh: Serve right away, or keep them covered in the fridge for a short time until snack time
